Henwood places his mark on Andalucian league hockey with a goal

Gibraltarian hockey player Gareth Henwood marked his place in Spanish hockey with his first goal this year.

Playing for San Fernando in the
Liga Primera Andaluza masculino, Henwood scored one and provided three assists in a match that ended 13-0 for San Fernando ADC Liceo SC.

The former national team player is one of a number of players who awaited their fate following December’s controversial email banning Gibraltarian players. A ban that was officially lifted just a week ago in time to allow players such as Henwood to continue with his sport.

The local hockey player has become a bit of a celebrity with San Fernando featuring in one of a series of collect able play cards similar to the well known football cards.

Henwood is expected to play again in the forthcoming days as a key player for San Fernando.
