FA optimistic about FIFA Presidency changes

With the new FIFA President to be elected in Zurich on the 26th February 2016 the Gibraltar Football Association has highlighted its optimism about the future.

In a press media report featured on their website a spokesman said “As yet, the Gibraltar FA is not a member of FIFA and therefore will not have a vote at the Extraordinary Congress being held to elect the new President.

“One of the candidates in that election is Mr. Gianni Infantino, the current General Secretary of UEFA. The GFA has enjoyed an excellent relationship with Mr. Infantino over the past three years and has been able to witness, at first hand, his diligence and efficiency in his role as well as his passion for football.

“The Gibraltar FA is confident that Gianni represents the change that FIFA so desperately needs and wishes him every success in the forthcoming election.” GFA Media report
