Gibraltar women’s football has been stalled momentarily whilst awaiting for the completion of the installation of a roof netting over the small pitches where matches are played.
Since the RAF complaint over the use of the pitches matches have been stopped at the pitch, with only some training by adults sides seen lately.
The effects of the changes, and delays in the works being carried out has seen both junior and women’s football disrupted. The latter with its league momentarily stalled. The Gibraltar Football Association is, however, looking at ways of providing women players with an opportunity to play in other organised events such as a possible tournament in the forthcoming weeks. News on one of the events is expected soon.
Junior football has been disrupted also, although some matches are being played on pitch 1 during weekdays to ensure the league can be completed on time.
