Grammarians 1st and 2nd teams play out today for the men’s cup final at 4.30, weather permitting.
Prior to the match Grammarians spokesman commented on Facebook “For the first time in decades, tomorrow the senior cup final will be played by two teams from the same club. Over the past few years we have worked tirelessly slowly introducing many youth players into the senior teams and gradually the hard work is paying off. In a 5 team one pool league round robin, Grammarians 1st and 2nd team have finished top of the table. Hard work does indeed pay off.”
The match is expected to see some drama with both sides looking to prove themselves. Recent matches between the two have been very competitive as both try to show their worth. Significantly the cup final with Grammarians as a club guaranteed success comes on the same year the club celebrates its 65th anniversary.
“No matter which of the two teams wins tomorrow, this is a huge club win. Whilst the sport isn’t enjoying its best days, we keep on working hard and we keep on growing. Another great way to celebrate our 65th anniversary,” added a spokesman.
