As the Gibraltar first division enters a quiet spell with the forthcoming international matches two major changes have taken place in the past 24 hours which has surprised many observers.
Christian Hook President of St Joseph’s had stepped down with a press statement expected to be released later today. The resignation has been confirmed by St Joseph’s officials who have also described the loss of three points following a sanction by the GFA as the “icing on the cake” although they were not willing to give details on the reasons behind the resignation as of yet nor whether recent events have had any influence or impact in the decision.
Lincoln Red Imps have also seen Head Coach Raul Procopio leave.
In a statement issued by the club on social media they state: “Lincoln Red Imps and Head Coach Raul Procopio have reached an agreement for purely personal reasons that will see the Head Coach move to the position of Technical Assessor for the club until the end of this season.
“Raul will continue to be actively involved in the preparations for the squad setup for next season. The club has appointed Mick McElwee as interim manager until a new Head Coach is appointed.
“The club would like to thank and acknowledge the great work Raul Procopio has done for the club until now in his capacity as Head Coach and look forward to continue this professional relationship into the future.”
