Gibraltar – This was Gibraltar United’s chance to get ahead of Britannia and move away from the relegation Play-off spot. However, after a solid defensive display in the first half in which they had also counter attacked with more menace a string of events in the second half saw them lose their chance to go above Britannia this week.
St Joseph’s scored in the second half with a free header from Javier Lopez dipping over Goldwyn to the top corner for the 1-0. Lopez struck again but this time it was a blunder by Goldwyn that gave St Joseph the 2-0. A blunder by the keeper picking up the shot saw it trickle under his legs and to goal.
