RIP Pepe Fabre

The Commonwealth Baton, accompanied by the Commonwealth Queens Bation Relay team arrived on the Rock of Gibraltar as part of its tours across Commonwealth countries. The Baton was presented to Gibraltar Commonwealth Games Association representative Charles Flower who paraded in off the tarmac where it would later be presented at an official ceremony to the Mayor of Gibraltar. Gibraltar mourns the passing away of one of Gibraltar’s best-loved citizens, Pepe Fabre.

100 years old, Pepe Fabre was among the best known personalities in Gibraltar and an active sportsman in his heydays.

Co-founder of the Gibraltar Amateur Swimming Association back in 1946 he later became president and then life president of the Gibraltar Commonwealth Games Association.
