Ram Purswani appointed Development Officer for the G.B.A

Ram Purswani has been mentored over the past couple of years by Mark Archer. Ram has recently been appointed Development Officer for the GBA. He will work in grassroots badminton developing it in middle schools, mentoring teachers in schools, setting up and assisting in school clubs, running the GBA development groups, organising inter-school championships and junior championships and running various camps and taster sessions. It is G.B.A’s intention to start introducing badminton skills for children at Primary School level.
Over the past year Ram completed all courses required by the GSLA such as First Aid and Coaching Children. He recently attended a course in Austria to complete the Badminton World Federation and Badminton Europe Shuttle Time course which is a course implemented by a large percentage of Member association to teach badminton in Schools. This will be a very useful tool. Ram will also be attending another Coaching Course in Slovenia this summer. The GBA would like to thank the GSLA and the Natwest Bank Development Fund for their support.
GBA President Ivan De Haro presented Ram with his Shuttle Time Trainer’s Certificate from the Badminton World federation and confirmed Ram’s appointment as Development Officer. He wished Ram the very best in this new partnership which will continue to further develop this sport in Gibraltar.
